Make Music NOLA was one of fifteen arts organizations accepted into the Bloomberg AIM Program in New Orleans. MMN also received an Extension grant from Bloomberg Philanthropy to work with Michael Kaiser on a strategic plan.

Make Music NOLA was selected as a semi-finalist for The Lewis Prize for Music! Many thanks to their amazing team for acknowledging our work. Congrats to our friends Intempo and The Roots of Music for being selected as finalists!
Make Music NOLA was awarded a three-year Presto Grant through El Sistema USA and the Angell Foundation. We are honored to be part of a cohort of twelve growing El Sistema programs.
Our Executive Director was honored for her “Service in Music” by the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission as part of their Women’s History Month Celebration in April 2018. She performed with “Julia A The Poet” and participated in a panel discussion.
Make Music NOLA was the recipient fo the Big Easy Award for "Arts Education" at Gambit's 2014 Tribute to the Classical Arts.
Make Music NOLA's Executive Director, Laura Patterson, was honored as a "Person of Character, Courage, and Commitment" by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Honor of Women's History Month for her work with MMN.
MMN was awarded Tulane University's community enrichment award, presented by C.A.C.T.U.S., a student-run organization, and the Tulane Center for Public Service in the Spring of 2013.
Make Music NOLA was one of fifteen programs in the U.S. chosen to participate in a summit with FundaMusical, the original El Sistema program in Venezuela. Our Executive Director and Head Violin Teacher attended four days of presentations, workshops, site visits, and performances. This summit was organized in New York City in conjunction with Fundamusical's permanent delegation to the United Nations.
